The Hakka People
The Hakka people are a nomadic group originally from southeastern China and are well-known for their delectable cuisine and superb cooking style. As they traveled, they altered their cooking style to suit the tastes of the local people. Eventually, a large population of Hakka Chinese settled in Calcutta and Bombay, India which led to the mingling of Chinese cuisine with Indian spices, creating, “Chindian”.
