A Tale of Two Inlaws
Meet Lin Motiwala and Gary Yan, two in-laws on a mission to bring tasty, authentic Hakka Chinese Cuisine to the Houston area.
Of Hakka descent, Lin’s family was an acclaimed food purveyor for the prestigious Bombay Gymkhana and Regal Restaurant at Colaba in Bombay. At Regal Restaurant, she oversaw the kitchen’s operation and assisted in food preparation. For the past 15 years, she has been caring for her two children and entertaining family and friends with scrumptious Hakka Chinese and Indian food.
Coming from Canada, Gary is braving the hot, Texas humidity to bring a superbly authentic “Chindian” dining experience to the Houston area. No stranger to the restaurant business, his family was the proprietor of the prominent Kamling Chinese Restarant in Pune, and he has managed McDonald’s, Boston Market and the Movenpick Restaurants of Switzerland in Canada and the US, winning numerous rewards in hospitality and management.
